Rollout of Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers Disclosure Scheme (FADS), 2026 on the Income Tax Portal

The Income Tax Department has enabled the Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers Disclosure Scheme, 2026 (FADS 2026) on the e-Filing Portal. Introduced as a one-time compliance opportunity by the Government, this scheme allows eligible taxpayers to voluntarily disclose specified foreign assets and foreign income that were not reported. Under the scheme, eligible taxpayers can furnish the prescribed declaration form online through the e-Filing Portal. Navigation Path: e-File → Income Tax Forms → File Income Tax Forms → Under Other Acts → Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers Disclosure Scheme, 2026 (Form 1 of FADS 2026) For detailed information and filing guidance, please refer to the FADS 2026 Documentation and User Guide available on the Income Tax Portal. Take this opportunity to regularize previously undisclosed foreign assets and income through the Government's one-time voluntary disclosure scheme.

New Integrated Payment Module Goes Live on e‑Filing Portal

Seamless payments now enabled across both the Income‑tax Act, 1961 and the Income‑tax Act, 2025.
With this enhancement, taxpayers can conveniently make payments under the existing Income‑tax Act, 1961 for dues up to FY 2025‑26, as well as under the Income‑tax Act, 2025 for Tax Year 2026‑27 onwards—all from a single interface.

  • The Income Tax Department @IncomeTaxIndia has truly evolved. My refund was credited in just two days, well ahead of the promised 15 day timeline. I felt it was important to acknowledge this, to appreciate and thank those who have helped create a very different experience from what many of us went through just a few years ago.
Many spiritual and religious traditions teach that expressing gratitude to people nurtures a heart that is grateful to the Divine. In that spirit, I wanted to share this note of thanks.
